[Cooking Tom Yam]
Indirectly, I think this site will turn into a site that features just food. You are speaking to a part-time yet inexperienced food connoisseur. This is a little weird to be in a teenager but I dare to admit to the public that I enjoy cooking meals for myself. Just myself. Afterall, I'm a female. Sooner or later, I will need to cook when I'm much older especially when the time I have my own family. Maybe I will be a full time career woman rather than a housewife. Nobody knows. Well that is something beyond my imagination for current. For certain, I will always cause havoc in the kitchen whenever I start my experiment in cooking. This is getting more embarrassing that I enjoy food shopping too. If not mistaken, this must be due to lack of shopping trips with family. I'm considered independent in most aspects.
Starving so badly today, I couldn't imagine my evening without nutrition or even something for me to gobble. I'm a growing teenager and I cannot be deprived from food ! I'm just practising a healthy lifestyle. I don't want to get anorexia.
I came out with something after the food shopping alone after school session :
I thought of cooking something with beancurd. I craved for beancurd out of a sudden. I needed soy bean in my food. I could go crazy without it. Eventually, I proceeded my shopping by getting a tub of beancurd, prawns, a bundle of sawi - weak memory and limited vocabulary led me to this embarrassment and a packet of tom yam paste. I'm just a kid. Don't expect me to come out with original and totally healthy recipe :
The recipe for a quick and easy Tom Yam dish has been stated above.
It's easily to be said than done most people will think. Believe me. It's really fast.
First, clean all the ingredients.
Then, simmer the veggie in the hot water. Pick out the veggie when it's done. Advisable to use the chopstick.
In another pot, pour in about one inch of water. Wait till it gets boiling. Add in the whole packet of Tom Yam paste. My preferable brand is the Maggi because it's not too hot and spicy.
Wait till it reaches the boiling point again. ( I never measured the temperature so does it really get to the boiling point? I wonder)
Next, add in the prawns and later the veggie again.
Wait till it's done.
Lastly, pour everything on the beancurd.
Ready to be served.
this kind of smooth beancurd. It costs around rm0.75 per tub. This is a production of my dad's friend's factory. Support this brand, would you?
I'm so cruel. Kicking in all the prawns into a big pot of hot and boiling tom yam. Hahaha.Enough of my joke. Just put in the prawns. Get the instant type which has been already cleaned to save all the time and effort. The prawns in Tom Yam
In the end, this is the result. I know it doesn't look that delicious. Some technical errors. Poor camera and poor skill in the photographer.
